Topic: Log In Time

Speaking only for myself, I find the constantly updated total log-in time to be a bit intimidating. Do I really want to KNOW how may DAYS or   MONTHS I have wasted in front of the computer screen exchanging droll drivel with you all?

NO, I do not. It makes me feel guilty when I think of all the productive things I COULD have accomplished had I put that time to good use.   

Number of posts?  No problem. There's a little twinge of satisfaction to be had there, thinking of all the smart sentinence and cosmic colloquialisms I have bestowed upon my brothers hereabouts.

I dunno, but IF the Powers That Be decided to delete that annoying and irritating little statistic from the home page, I, for one, would not consider it a great loss.

Tendentious thoughts such as this afflict me on New Year's Day on a regular basis as I take stock of my progress over the past twelve months - progress that seems to be measured in millimeters rather than milestones these days.   

Thank goodness you now have twelve more entire months to be spared my spurious ruminations.......

FWIW, you can run but you can't hide.  Everyone can still get the logged in time info out of the stats section of the board, <One day, one hour, 24 minutes> whether it is printed on your header or not.

Well. I KNOW the CIA, the FBI, the NSA and the Department of Homeland Insecurity all keep track of this stuff. And I am not suggesting that it should be removed. Just pontificating on New Year's Day and sharing my thoughts. Have no idea how others feel about it, and it is not a big enough issue to rise even to the level of a thought. Just idle runimations on my part while I comtemplate how much money I must donate to Uncle Sam this yearf and whether this is in fact the year in which I begin an exercise regimen.

So take it for what its worth. And if its worth nothing, so be it.  I had fun constructing the initial post. Maybe someone will get a chuckle out of reading it.
