Im sure this is the skylane motor special that was designed and built by Leroy J. ViersenJr. and Leroy Viersen 111.?

Oguerrerob

Yes! Locked for you, to find the car's name

kwgibbs

I thought that was the name, because the only name I can find is the skylane motor special convertible coupe 1951?

Oguerrerob

According to my source its name is a large and complicated word with other words

kwgibbs

I looked on several sites for alternative name for it but no luck so far,it must be on a specific site that I haven,t found yet.I,ll keep plugging. ;)

The article was published on a famous not car magazine

This car was the subject of a previous AP puzzle. You were the one who solved that puzzle with the answer "Skylane 1951" (even though the puzzle creator claimed the correct name was actually 'Skylane Motor Special Convertible Coupe').

This car is very well-known among the custom car community here in the US. It was named 'Skylane Motor Special' by the builders (see letter from the builder below) and has never been officially presented as anything else. I suspect your source may have mis-captioned a photo of this car.

You're right it's a repost (and I won a point for this one)

A popular magazine called it Bulinformercillac Convertible Speedster

Of course, Popular Science (August 1951)! :D PS regularly omitted the names of businesses responsible for the various items featured in order to placate the paying sponsors. (Notice how Skylane Motor Parts is never mentioned.) The use of 'Bulinformercillac' in the title of the article was supposed to be humorous--a tongue-in-cheek reference to the preposterous list of donor vehicles. It's not being presented as the actual name of the vehicle (which is referred to simply as 'the car').

To be fair I must give a GTE4289 a point for finding the original post
Thank you for the point, but kwgibbs really deserves full credit for this one. His response was spot-on.
