What is this?
1 point for you!
It may be known with 3 different names.
Each one of them will earn you a temporary lock to finish it but only all 3 of them will give you a point
(That's just to avoid lucky random guesses...only if you know the car, you'll find all 3 of them)
Open to all of you!

D-type

Duncan Rollo

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Paul Jaray

Not an Austin and not a pedal car. Not called J40.
The rest is correct.

Is it a car for children or for adults ?

Paul Jaray

A real car. Like the Volugrafo or the Volpe.

oko94

Can the information be found online ?

Paul Jaray

Yes, but it won't be that easy ;)

kwgibbs

was this little car a one-off?

Paul Jaray

This car was produced by a company.
This is the only pic I ever find of it but it shows the prototype. There is another pic of the 'final' version that is rather different, but that too remained a one-off.
This name can be found in some literature too, but not all sources mention it.

luisps

Could it be a BERTONI?

luisps

A similar one was the Sicilian PULCINO also known as ARTESI, family name of its creator.

Paul Jaray

All good guesses, but not one of those.

oko94

Powered by a motorcycle engine ?

luisps

As you require 3 names related between let me propose: PARVA-MOTO FONGRI-FRATELLI GRIGNANI from Torino

I have all the details of it but it's not reported if it's from a motorcycle.

Another good guess, but it's not.
The 3 names are required just to avoid blind & lucky guesses. If you'll find one of them, you'll earn a lock to prove you find the car and it was not just a guess. Only the 3 names will give you the point but once there, it will be easy ;)

Paul Jaray

Those 3 names are: an acronym, builder's name and model's name.
They all can be found in the full name of this company, the latter being the city...

Paul Jaray

This is the final prototype:

Paul Jaray

This one is hard but not impossible.
This maker is not reported in books or magazines but if you looked for obscure Italian makers, you probably found out a paper with a bigger list where this name appears.

luisps

Before or afther 1950?

Paul Jaray

#24
The prototype is from 1947 and the final version from 1949.
1949 is the year reported in one on-line source (but not too easy to find).
