It's Pininfarina for BMC, but not that model.
Locked for you to give me the right model as well as the name of the designer at Pininfarina.

End 1966 or early 1967 ADO 14 (Austi Maxi) proposal mock-up. Still looking for the designer within Pininfarina though.

Tom Tjaarda then? But I suppose he left Pininfarina before this Austin was made. I guess I'm at the point of giving up.

Still locked or can a new suggestion be made regarding the designer?

It wasn't Tom Tjaarda and is still locked for you new suggestion!
He was certainly one of Pininfarina's several absolutely brilliant designers...

@Carnut,
please excuse me for asking again.
English is not my native language and I am not sure if I understood your last answer correctly in this thread.

Is the thread still locked for another answer from Alfa_Japan?
Or is it possible that I give an answer now?

As a newcomer in the round I don't want to accidentally break the rules... ;)

Last attempt from my side, if incorrect please release it for other members since I'm just guessing and honestly have no clue and fail to find the information whilst searching for it.

Diego Ottina?

Sorry alltag; I misread  your previous reply and thought it was from Alfa_Japan, hence my confusing reply...
It was still locked for Alfa_Japan but now he's given up so is open for you to reply.

@Carnut
Thank you very much for the explanatory words.

In an article I read, it is reported that Leonardo Fioravanti had revised the basic design of BMC.  Possibly the one on the photo?  This design was then again developed further by BMC - not for the better.

If that should be the right answer, I think the point should still go to Alfa_Japan. ;)

Yes, Leonardo Fioravanti is the right answer. I thought I'd given Alfa_Japan as many hints as I could without actually giving him the answer...!
What I'll do is give you both a point since Alfa did identify the car and design house and we want to encourage Rookies!

Farina were brought in to improve the Maxi's design a bit in late 1967 but in the end the production car which emerged in 1969 was entirely Roy Haynes's utterly bland design.  The BMC management hated anything which might be perceived to be a bit too modern and 'foreign' so stuck with their usual style-less designs.  Then they wondered why the buyers weren't there...

Here are the full front and back views of Fioravanti's effort to improve the appearance:

@Carnut, now that the name Fiovaranti is mentioned it's indeed one that I overlooked. I for sure wouldn't have found that even if you gave me another 10 attempts. Thanks for the point.

@alltag, thanks for your kind consideration! As said I for sure wouldn't have found the designer although of course he is a well known one who many interesting designs.
