If not Chevrolet-powered, was it perhaps Ford-powered?

Although built in the USA, was this car powered by a European engine?

Well, that's all the US makers eliminated (the "Big three" plus Offenhauser) so was it a Japanese engine?

Perhaps a Buick engine, as used in other sports-racers of the period?

This is the TXP H-Modified sports racer, built by Bruce Townsend. It used a Crosley engine mated to a 5 speed Lancia transmission and drove through a modified Studebaker rear axle.
The front suspension is Morris Minor. Construction is tubular space frame with alloy panels, and the body is  fiberglass, resembling a smaller D Jaguar of the period.
