No, it is an international, very common male name - or better the short version of the original ancient name.

One cartoon character of Warner Brothers also had it as a part of his character name...

On the other hand it is all I have...

SAM = Samochod Amatorski Motoru
Samochod = Car
Amatorski = Amateur
Motoru = polish newspaper derived to cars

SAM = eigenbau = homemade = selfbuild

It's not the name of the car but name of all selfbuild cars from Poland at that time

We need to know who build this to solve this puzzle
