I have read in a source that for Formula Junior cars a roll bar was mandatory from the beginning. But I don't see any in the picture.

I think you are right, but there was no regulation about the height of the roll-bar. So most of them were far too low, so in modern 'Historic Formula Junior-events' you find on all of the cars welded height-extensions on the original roll-bars

Formula Junior was limited to 1100cc.  Is it powered by a linered down engine?
