Gain a point by correctly naming this car and its mechanical base.

Well spotted, and yes, it is British.

The front of the car looks like a copy of the 'Fiberfab Jamaican'. Is it Triumph-based?

Not Triumph-based and no Fiberfab in here.

While I’m on, congratulations Fromwien on being awarded 200 points in a such a short time frame (you’re already half way to becoming a Pro!), but commiserations too on also being the very first puzzler to achieve 200 points without posting a single puzzle yourself for others to solve, which is hugely disappointing as this could be seen as all take and no give.

Without new puzzles from all regular AutoPuzzles participants this site can not flourish and grow, and doesn’t enable our fellow Puzzlers the chance to join in and gain more points and vehicle knowledge. Sorry to name and shame, but gaining 200 points without contributing a single puzzle is a new low and not really ‘playing the game’ in my view, particularly when you obviously have such strong car knowledge and access to good information and images. Sorry, and please don’t ‘shoot the messenger’ but I’m just expressing what I know a number of other Puzzlers are also thinking.

I say, old chap, steady on!  We come here for a bit of convivial fun, not to be lectured on how to behave. In the years that I have been enjoying Autopuzzles I have never realised that puzzle posts are obligatory after "X" number of points!!  I'm sure that we all greatly appreciate the time and effort that goes into finding new puzzles, but if it wasn't for points seekers responses there would be no Autopuzzles at all. It takes two to Tango. Grow up.

Sorry but I wasn’t trying to be lecturing, but rather trying to point out that it only seems fair for a bit of give and take to help protect and grow this site that we all enjoy so much, as placing a puzzle can be just as much fun and rewarding as solving a puzzle. It’s all just for fun with like-minded car enthusiasts, and if new puzzles don’t get posted, then there’s no points to be awarded, no new unknown vehicle discoveries for us all, and ultimately no AutoPuzzles, hence the need to encourage Puzzlers to post new puzzles to help this site grow and thrive; surely something we all want to see.

O.K.,....so it only takes ONE to Tango! ;D.

And as for the puzzle; does it have a Rover V8 engine?

Dear Djetset,
First of all, thank you for gratulations, although I believe that they only served as an excuse for your following text.
If you know, what a number of other Puzzlers are also thinking (as you), then you are welcome to forward my answer to them:
1) I read Autopuzzles.com-rules very carefully, and use this site only complying these rules carefully.
2) If you want to change these rules, i.e., if you want to commit ALL puzzlers to post puzzles after earning xxx points, your request reached the wrong address.
3) I am a very liberal-minded person, who allows every individual all personally possibilities within the stated rules. Twenty years ago, for 25 years, I had to manage 120 employers. Highly individual persons... As I gave them the most possible free space and tolarance for developement, the better we found together to a business family. Only with meddling of self-appointed supervisors, this democratic system began to totter.
4) I only use Autopuzzles as a leisure activity. Far away from competition. Just for fun... Nothing more! I am still hard working in my business house. This year with more difficulties, than any year before.... So I want to take it easy with Autopuzzles. In my way. Within the rules. Without any subliminal hostilities...
5) And please let me know me more about the "underground association", who is thinking as you? Who they are. please? Will be more democrtic, then only one half-sentence....
6) I know, the political systems worldwide are in a democratic crisis. But please let democratic individuals, who follow mentioned rules, play the way they want, in leisure times. Or is it a jealously sub-group, who makes personal rules behind....???????
Thank you very much, for you cordial gratulations

The car is a Chrysalis, a glass fibre re-body on a Lotus Elan +2 chassis and mechanicals. Built 1974 ish by John Bishop.

I've been waiting for Djetset to move this puzzle to the Pro's for about 6 months, but he seems to have abandoned AP for good so I never got to earn my rare point!

However, since I know that the answer you've given is correct I'm going to give you the point myself and move the puzzle to Solved rather than just leave it languishing at the end of the Experts board!

Well done.
