Lynden Gilker?
No

Remember, this car was built by a company, not an individual. As far as drivers, I have no confirmed information on who raced the car or even where. As you might imagine, there are several "VW specials" listed in CASC records from the period, but I haven't been able to confidently connect any of those to this car.

Could it be at Canadian Motorsport Historical Society?

pnegyesi

was the other car a sports car too?

Thanks for that! I now have one record of this car competing in a Canadian race.

Edit: I've now found a second record (from a different source) of the car competing in a Canadian race. Same year, same driver, different venue.

Mono ?
I think you've found it. LOCKED for you to fill in the details (builder, as well as complete make and model names).

Well found!

I began this puzzle based on the article below, believing this to be another VW-based kit car by Silver Star Industries, the company responsible for the Sportee Monno GT.

As things progressed, I learned that: 1) all of Silver Star's cars were branded Sportee; 2) this was the first Sportee to use the model name Monno; 3) this was a one-off prototype (built by Silver Star on a tubular frame) that was never offered for sale as a kit; and 4) it was raced in 1965 by the owners of Silver Star (brothers Tom, Robert, and John Hedrich).
