The Stupor Bowl
« on: February 04, 2007, 06:03:32 PM »
No, that title is not a misspelling.

Anyone going to watch it?  I might.  I will definitely catch halftime.  Other than that, there isn't much that interests me about this game.  Unlike 100 million or so other people.

How about you?

Prince can really play. Maybe I have overlooked something here. Too old. He has a lot of Jimi and James Brown and other goodes. Can anyone recomened a cd on which he really cuts loose and plays without the cuty pooty stuff?

btw this is entered right after half time. Bye

He is due for a hip replacement soon which is why he doesn't dance around too much anymore.   Time is coming to get us all. :crap:

I would be happy to recommend 4 of his CD's.

Sign of the Times and the Purple Rain soundtrack are the studio releases I would recommend and, most importantly, two bootlegs that I possess and would be glad to share copies of with you.  One is an aftershow in Holland from 1988 and the other is him on guitar playing in a trio in the studio from 1994.  You can hear songs of his from both of those bootlegs in this thread:

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=832.0

The bootlegs are the ones where he really just cuts loose and plays without the pooty stuff.  If you would be interested in copies, PM me and let me know.

Hailing from central Indiana, and having lived in both Indianapolis and Chicago; this was a game I HAD to watch.  The Colts played a superior game, no doubt about it.  And playing football in a driving rain is similar to racing in one, I guess...I don't see how anybody could hold onto a football in that downpour.  I was reminded of some of the races I've seen where the racing was hampered by water everywhere, mainly Surfer's Paradise a couple of years ago.  I saw a NASCAR race a few years ago at Michigan where the last 50 miles were run in a strong drizzle...by the end of the race, the track was quite wet, and you couldn't see the backstretch.  I wouldn't have wanted to be out there in it.

I guess pro atheletes are pro atheletes, no matter what the sport.

The opening kickoff told of a great came to come, but the Chi offense forgot to show up!

Those copies up for anyone?

Is mp3 okay with everyone?  If so, I will upload both releases to the server in that format and you can just download them from here.

Windows Media Player will convert that for you to CD, if you want to take it with you.

Dude, I own a recording studio:

http://www.lachinemachine.com/

I don't think you are going to teach me a lot about music formats or what software to use for them, frankly.   ;)  However, for everyone else, GRAYWOLF is correct.  You can make CDs from the mp3's via the Windows Media Player.   I ask you guys again, is mp3 format acceptable for you to receive the files or would you prefer them as lossless FLACS.

Great company that requires a fairly large initial order to be competitive on a per unit basis with the small jobbers like Kunaki.

Not having an artist than I am convinced will do the work neccesary to move 1,000 CD's, we have only used the small jobbers at this time.

I haven't needed that kind of productions, yet, either. I bought a 1 to 7 duplicator for my current needs. Works like a champ! Of course, if I were to make something for mass consumption, I would have to go with someone that had the equipment to do inserts and print the label on the disk.

Hadn't heard of Kunaki...prices look pretty good. I don't know that I could do all of that for for that price!

I have priced it out and I can't.  Even with shipping, they are the best deal going for orders of 20 or more, IMHO.

Attention everyone... LISTEN TO THIS BOOTLEG! It'll forever change what you think about The Artist Formerly/Currently Known As Prince.

I actually didn't catch the halftime show last night. We had already killed our first keg and embarked on a mystical journey to acquire another. Finding a keg on Super Bowl Sunday without reservations is no easy feat.

On a related note, I really think we need to petition the NFL to move the game to Saturday. I can pretty well write off the chem quiz that I took at 9 this morning.

That freaking rocks!!! 8)

He came to Columbus about two years ago, and I didn't even think of going -- at the time I thought he was just that weird dude who sang "When Doves Cry." :-X

If he tours again, I'd drive all the way to Seattle (about the closest major concert destination).
