So how's the weather where you are? It's a crystal clear 35* day here. If I weren't on such a limited budget (trying to get by without a job for the first semester) I'd be out skiing today.

Its a sultry 20 degrees here right now. Up considerably from Friday morning when it was -3.

I may go to the beach tomorrow if this keeps up!    ;)

Feel like
Letting my freak-flag fly
Yes I feel
Like I owe it
To someone........

Here's to the peace movement....another day of blood and explosions w/ more to come..............sad.

Anybody hear what's going on at Daytona?  Saw the first 3 hours, had to go to a Bday party, and just got home...Speed's broadcast is done for the night, as I understand...

Here's to the peace movement

Amen, brother.  I can NOT put into words how much this feels like Veet Naaaam all over again. The arrogant leaders leading us straight over a cliff. The utter lack of practical planning. The absence of proper training and equipment for a war we are not equipped to fight.  The derision at the early objectors.  The late to the party celebs telling us how they were really AGAINST the enterprise when they supported it earlier. The slowly, slowly growing groundswell of public diapproval. The ongoing carnage of loyal and brave young Americans caught in a foreign land where they don't understand the culture or the language or the reason they are seeing their bretheren dismembered, disemboweled, shreiking in unendurable pain as their too too fragile bodies are ripped assunder, the commitment to send more and more troops, the looking at neighboring countries as possible attack targets by those same leaders who got us into this shit in the first place, or their successors, the weeping and wailing about what a disaster will befall the poor country if we withdraw, the handwringing over local politicians who refuse to genuflect to the Great White Father who installed them in power and insist on doing things their own way, the internal fractionalization over religion (today is sunnis vs shiites, but before it was buddhists vs catholics), a US Embassy surrounded by battlements and guards and looking about as out of place as a pyramid in Times Square.

I tell ya, lads. To my aged eyes, its the same script updated. But we're not gonna like the ending any more than we did the first time around.    :(

Yeah, I would have to specialize in greeting cards targeted to such areas as "So Sorry To Hear About Your Impending Suicide" and "Congratulations On Your Bitter Divorce".  Other possibilites include "Here's Hoping Your Detox Goes Well" and "Ten Ways To Deal With A Crack Addicted Child."  I suppose some appropriate thoughts for the neighbor who has been "downsized" and is facing foreclosure would be nice. That's an expanding market, thanks to our national economic policies.   :(

A friend of mine once opened an "adult" gift card store - which soon failed. One of my favorite cards was a picture of a tormented woman saying "Last night you wanted to make love to me in the worst way...."  On the inside, it said:

"And you did."
