Don't know of any Hemi-Trabbies, but here's something else.

Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match

Man, that Citroen is all kinds of awesome! Whoever built that car can be comfortable in the knowledge that they have something truly one-of-a-kind. Not many ZCitroen fans are into Chevy V8s, and not many Chevy guys want to work with a French car.

What really gets me is that this car actually RUNS!!!  Somebody was actually brave enough to drive it!  As an avid Hot Wheels collector, I have the original die-cast.  I remember thinking, "Only the gang at Hot Wheels would be crazy enough to come up with a concept like this."  I was wrong!

Time to get a 1000hp twin-turbo'd torque demon in a Sprite.

Or a hemi in a Trabant...speaking of which...there's a neat article in the March issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car about a Trabi being restored.  The guy used spray-in bedliner material for undercoating.  Sounds wierd, but it's a million times better than what came from the factory.

Dan

A lot of the Lotus Seven clone guys use bed liner under the fenders and for the floors.

Guess so...I just thought it odd that a restorer would use such a material; but then, the original Trabant probably wasn't undercoated, anyway.

I dunno...how much do those do-it-yourself containers weigh?

It would also depend on how thick it was sprayed on, or would have to be in order tom be effective.

Its plastic bodied so probably there so the stones tossed up from the tires don't bash up the undercarriage.
