The show was called The Tycoon, and ran from 1964-1965.  There were only 8 episodes.  Interestingly, George Lindsey ws a co-star, before his "Goober" days.

The Tycoon? Not that I remember it or have ever seen it, but imdb.com is a good friend o' mine. That and Walter Brennan was born the next town over from me. Right next door to Walter, in my home town, Starling Burgess did the bulk of his aeronautic work, including the first Naval Airplane. Starling was responsible for a gread deal of the design and construction of the Dymaxion. The Dymaxion was notable for never having appeared on the Motor Mouse and AutoCat show, which was one of my favorite shows about the time that The Tycoon was on TV, which may explain why I'm not familar with The Tycoon.

And that is my six degrees of oblivion.

I remember Motor Mouse and Auto Cat, plus Tom Slick and the Thunderbolt Greaseslapper...also Wacky Racers.  And how about Thunderbirds! and Supercar?  Does anybody remember Fireball XR5?

Those were the days...

Not about this thread, just generally.

Never would we have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it.

Not once.

Not even a chance.

No way.

It wasn't remotely apparent.

Not a trace of it.

Couldn't see that one coming.

Surely you jest.

I don't believe it.

You don't say.

No, really?

Saw some rather unusual automotive items the past week...one was a late-model Cavalier in the local Wal-Mart parking lot; it was lime green/lemon yellow, with a big wing on the back and huge tires and rims.  It looked like it could have been a NOPI project car, rather attractive as those things go, but it had the strangest paint job....the whole ting was covered with ORANGE PEEL.  It HAD to be intentional...the paint was shiny, covered well, but mottled as a pock-marked lemon...is this in vogue?  How would anybody wax such a car?

Saw my first "donk" car kit in the toy section of the same store...a Monte Carlo, natch...

Also saw a Deora kit, the box stated the car had a 396 V8...even though it also stated the car was based on a Dodge A100 pickup.

And, not only are there Hot Wheels versions of the new Camaro available, there's also a 2006[?] Heritage Camaro kit available from AMT.
