Went to the Indy Auto Show Sunday afternoon, and came away rather unimpressed. Some observations:
No Ferraris, but I expected that...
No Rolls-Royces, but there were 3 Bentleys...
The plastic interior, textured as it may be, doesn't work nearly as well in the Lincoln Town Car as it does in my buddy's Sable wagon...
Korean cars appear to be relative bargains compared to just about everything else on the market...
If Porsche could open up its' Cayenne, why not the Boxster?
Ford's talking robot was a very lame display...
Toyota had its' NASCAR Craftsman Truck and NEXTEL CUP models on prominent display, and nobody seemed to notice...
All the domestic cars and trucks looked the same, and little different from the Japanese and Korean offerings...
It was nice to be able to sit in a Jaguar.
The Chrysler Imperial Concept car looks much better in person than in print, and really should be produced. It would be the ultimate in bling...
It was more fun listening to the Colts game on the car radio on the way home than it was trying to find an interesting new car.
Next year, I'm staying home. New cars are boring!
