There's been a little paperwork SNAFU (probably my fault) and I won't be working at Many Glacier this summer unless someone else quits. At this point I'll either be in Missoula for summer quarter or at Lake McDonald on the west side of the park. Either way I'll do everything in my power to make sure I can meet up with y'all. Let me know what your dates are for the Montucky portion of the ride. Charlie knows my phone #.
I just got back last night from a spring break trip to Steamboat Springs. Seems I left that town with a lot fewer brain cells than I arrived with, but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything in the world. Aside from being one of America's greatest ski towns it's also one of the hardest partying places this side of Cancun. Ski Time Square is a strip of bars that could put a Big Ten college town to shame, and they're not your typical yuppie ski town bars. Lupo's is where the locals hang out -- it's on the second floor of a nondescript building and there's no conspicuous sign, so naturally it's the coolest bar in town. Cold beer, plenty of pool tables, and good tunes in the jukebox. So of course it goes without saying that a developer has purchased the entire strip and plans to bulldoze it to make way for more luxury condos, turning Steamboat into yet another carbon copy of Vail. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
On top of all that, I got to see my beloved Buckeyes advance to the finals for the first time since 1962, only to barely lose to Florida. I honestly expected to see them get blown out, but watching them hang in there until the final five minutes really toyed with my emotions. My hatred of the SEC, and the Gators in particular, is growing by the day.
