Subie Sale
« on: April 23, 2007, 09:52:11 PM »
In our efforts to continue to go completely broke by downsizing, we're putting our two company Subies up for sale.  Any suggestions re- quick/easy/getoutfromunderthedebtanddon'tworryaboutprofit sale strategies?

I'd start with Craigslist since it's free, then move on to Auto Trader or Cars.com.

eBay seems like it might be too much of a pain.

ebay IS a pain, according to a buddy of mine who swears he will never sell anything on it again....

We've a local "Thrifty Nickel" newsprint publication made up of nothing but ads where you can sell anything/everything ("Black Salve" teeth-whitening callous removing cancer cure anyone?) and a more specific similar publication that does nothing but cars...am entering the ads there tomorrow.

Out of curiosity, why would a shrink need a company car in the first place? Did you guys make house calls?

They were used for our psychosocial rehabilitation program (part of the show that got the axe) where behavioral specialists went out to the homes of kids who were in need of some behavioral modification....was cheaper at the time than paying said employees mileage...

FWIW, my company owns my Audi, thereby making it a company car that I can write off....

I'm consistently amazed at the stuff my dad's company "owns." It pays to be an accountant for 30 years.

Are they Subarus?

Yupper; Impreza 2.5RS's each; one blue sportwagen w/ 5-speed, another black sedan w/ auto.  Low mileage:  both around 22K

Wanna trade the blue sport wagon for the GTO?

You may as well just stuff $5000 in a shoebox, giftwrap it, and hand it to Rich.

That aside, they're great little cars.

That would depend on what each of us owed on the vehicle, wouldn't it?

You take my debt, I take yours.  Could work depending on the debts.

I'll make a straight trade. I'm fairly confident I owe more on my ride than you owe on yours. ;D

Why the hell did I buy a brand new car again?

You let her drive it and she will be convinced.
