Life's script
« on: February 12, 2009, 01:41:47 AM »
"They say" everything in life happens for a reason.  Sometimes, I wonder....  Ever experienced one of those events where, had you went with the "other" choice, the resulting "situation" would NEVER have happened?

I experienced another one of those Thursday, January 29.  En route home, I debated whether or not to get gas in my '87 MC LS.  I decided to stop for gas.  Wish I hadn't.  Getting gas that evening resulted in the '87 MC LS getting damage on the driver's side of the front bumper ... complete with paint coming off and a crack in the bumper ... ~$900 estimated repairs.  Ugh.  On the flipside, I suppose had I not stopped, I might've been involved in a traffic collision.  I'll, of course, never know.

That reminded me of April 2003 ... first time I had the older 4 MCs out that year.  I decided to take the '81 MC SC for a bit longer drive.  That "extended drive" found me on a road on which the speed limit had just recently been lowered.  I forgot ... and promptly received a ticket.  Had I not decided to drive the '81 MC SC a bit longer that late afternoon, I never would've gotten that ticket.

But, what about those "fork in the road" decisions that lead to something good?  I've had just as many of these as I've experienced otherwise, but for whatever reason, they don't come to mind as easily.

*shrugs*

How about you?

Every decision leads to further events, that's how it works . I turn left to walk a shortcut to my home and I meet a friend I haven't seen in 5 years. Had I decided to go normal route I may heve found 100 euro lying on the pavement. Or maybe I'd get killed by a drunk bus driver? Who knows.

BTW, what's MC?
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.
