Spring Training is Around the Corner
« on: February 14, 2012, 05:16:58 PM »
Baseball. The one sport I love more than auto racing. With the Tigers bulking up to defend their division title (and hoepfully more), I came across this gem on my favorite baseball blog:  ;D

Many things would have to go right for the Twins to win the division this year

1. Get Mauer on roids.
2. Miracle cure for brain-dead Morneau.
3. Competent pitching staff falls from Minneapolis sky.
4. Josh Willingham morphs into in-his-prime Harmen Killebrew.
5. Zombie Kirby Puckett.

What say you, baseball fans?

I figure our mild winter will turn ferocious as soon as Lakeland comes alive.

It will be interesting to see if the Tigers have the fielding and chemistry to win a title this year.

Another year, another shot.

Are the in-division Royal's this years version of last year's A's?

Will the chemistry of Tori Hunter and the returning V-Mart help the team focus at crunch time?

Will starting the year with a pro-level 2nd baseman (who can hit reasonably well) count for a few more wins?

Will the lack a seasoned closer cost them a few more wins?

The Tigers are loaded with veteran talent, and some younger talent. They are hampered by a weak bench...
