Topic: New music for you?

I've been blessed with a wide appreciation of music.  Blessed I guess, because it's an expensive pursuit, my collection being built over the years represents a fair bit of pocket change, if there is such a thing as pocket change anymore.

Of the latest round of music I've been enjoying is the new release from Wilco.  This one immediately has relevance, some releases take time to settle into.  That's not the case with Wilco.  This is new, but it fits so speak like a well worn pair of shoes.

Can't say I'm familiar with Wilco, though I may have to check it out sometime.

I have an eclectic taste in music, as I'm sure you may've noticed with the song quotes in my sig each time I post.  Though I'm not sure I'd consider my interest in music an appreciation of sorts.  Maybe.  *shrugs*  But, I see it more as an interest in the "soundtrack of life" ... if that makes sense....

Wilco is one of those bands that in the right circle, "everyone" knows about.  Otherwise, they don't get much air play - the dynamics of such are more well known to you, I'd imagine since you're in the profession.

Yes, having been in college for radio/newspaper, and spent some time on the air the last few years at a local radio station for a month or so at a time, I am familiar with those dynamics.  It is always interesting to find out about a group ... and then later find out the kind of following they've had for YEARS, even though you may've only heard about them "just now"....
