Neat Freak Or Slob?
« on: April 26, 2010, 09:17:36 AM »
Went to see The Odd Couple at the local repertory theater yesterday afternoon and it got me thinking.

On a scale of 1 - 10, I am about an 8 on the Slobishness scale. I tend to let things slide pretty much, but once they reach a critical mass, so to speak, I go about tidying up with a vengeance.

For instance, I cleaned up the basement this spring. Took about 4 days to do it right and I hauled 3 barrels of useless crap to the dump in the process. Bit took about 4 years to get around to doing it.   :-[

Where are you on the neatness scale? A full fledged anal retentive neat freak like Felix Unger or an out and out slob like Oscar Madison?

An hour today cleaning and checking my pushbike...

Then 7 hours cleaning the Tiger (I love polishing tarnished alu  ??? so much so that I have just ordered an electric polisher) prior to a show this weekend.

However I have spent the last month revising for an exam so not much else has been done...

That puts you at about 6.5 on the "neat freak" scale!    ;D

Watch the "Hoarders" show on either Discovery or TLC and you'll never think of yourself as a slob............ever, ever, again.

My mother in law has the mental disease of "hoarding" but not as bad as the ones on the tv show.  I'm telling yah........It's weird to the core, this "hoarding" thing.

I.E.  Picture this beautiful or decent looking house on the outside, and inside the owner/hoarder has amassed purchased items that cover years of shopping and just piled the stuff everywhere.  These folks can't even get to their bathrooms or kitchens as they have to climb over several feet of bags, boxes, etc. of clothes, appliances, you name it..

It's really sad...........These folks when confronted with therapy, can't even throw out a paper clip without having an anxiety attack.
