1941 Mosin Nagant 91/30 Scout Rifle. My first reworked rifle.
« on: December 08, 2013, 06:40:09 AM »
Barrel cut to 18 inches and recrowned.  Crown reblued.  Front sight returned to barrel via Brassstacker front sight mount.   Brassstacker scout mount with AIM 2x7 long eye relief scope, bore sighted with laser.  Aluminum shims in stock to help bed the rifle and free float the barrel. Rubber butt pad.  Trigger job, just a hair over 4 pounds. Bolt polished on all contact surfaces. Striker spring ground slightly on exterior diameter to lower bolt stiffness.  Chamber polished.  Fore end of stock removed and stock refinished where fore end attached.  I did all the work myself.

Finished it tonight:

Tomorrow we fire it and sight it in.
