Approaching 10 years of AutoPuzzles goodness.
Anyone have any ideas for a thread or puzzle or something to commemorate the milestone?
-
Wow - - ten years! :o
-
Let's find something to celebrate!
Each member has to post one or more puzzles, no matter how hard they are, starting from the rookie section?
-
Yes let's do something!
I've only just realised that I joined when the thing was less than a year old, but what's happened to those whe were already here that we never see now: Arthur Dent, Jagman, Tifosi, Lynxd67, Rich, MG and Gilby to name just a few!
-
We can send them emails, asking to get back just to celebrate...or we can match both ideas: to prepare a group of puzzles and invite them to solve them.

Odd how seemingly very keen players come and go.
It's astonishing how many potential puzzles I do a search on and find they've already been posted by @re. He really was here all the time and yet has disappeared without trace.
We should all meet up for a party! But it'll have to be an on-line one...

That'd be the party of the first part, then . . . .

Another old "Marxist" saying - that's the sanity clause. ;D

That would be fantastic!!!! Anyone wanna take on that task?
-
Ok, I'm in.
Let's prepare a list of people we would like to 'invite' and a message for them.
We can easily send those emails, then.
This is a list of people with more than 500 posts that are no longer active.
Feel free to add or point out the ones you think are missing or are not welcome (if any!).

On anniversary day, anyone who solves a puzzle gets 10 points.
On anniversary day, new puzzles have to feature cars that were launched 10 years ago.

Nice idea but 10 points for a puzzle seems to be ...too much!
But we can indeed have the number 10 as the leitmotif of all the puzzles: each poster has to find an original way to express the idea about that number (cars of 10 years ago, makers alive for 10 years, 10 different coachbuilt versions of the same model and so on).

Hello folks. Its been a while but I thought I'd pop in for the 10 year anniversary. Impressive indeed!

Thx for dropping by. I hope you'll stay awhile.

Mr. Dentures! How nice to see you! ;D

Sinking deep into the well of time...Which date are we observing as the anniversary?
Meanwhile, here's one of my favorite Yardbirds songs - Jeff Beck on lead, Jimmy Page on bass.

I too was wondering exactly what date it should be. I admit I'm a bit lazy and I haven't checked everything, but the earliest post I can find is 16 April 2006. Presumably the site was online just before that date.
(PS Yardbirds - I'd almost forgotten about them. Some of their early stuff was right up my street, proper R & B, not this tepid generic crap we get served as R & B these days. Anyone remember the original Pretty Things?)

Here is the earliest archived page I can find:

Ultra, Stephen M and Boxer2500 registered that day and Karn Utz (where did he go? :D) registered three days later as did Arthur Dent, Danspeed and Rich
Nixon and Trobinett registered on 18th

April 16 is the day I launched the forum. The front page and site went live on June 1st.

Thanks for thinking of me and congratulations on 10 years. That's at least a century in "webpage years". I've been keeping a small online footprint lately but I'll try and stick around.
-
PJ - you don't need to ask whcgt because he's still here but as Valkyrie!

Bl**dy split-personalities! Tell him to see a shrink.
