The only choice
« on: March 03, 2011, 11:35:35 AM »
If you had a once-in-a-lifteitime chance to drive (or be driven in) one single car* - any car you car think of... Which car would be your only choice and why?

Share your fantasies below. :)

*the car you had never driven before and the one you cannot afford.

I would love to drive my favorite car : 1933 Hotchkiss Retractable by Pourtout

"This car was ment to be unveiled at the 1933 Salon de Paris, but for some reason it was never presented there. The roofsystem needed just 15 seconds to open or close."

The Maserati for me represents the most beautiful, well-proportioned, aggressive performance car of its time.
Coupled with the magic of Italian engineering excellence and design detail, this car is my number one choice.
Of course I couldn't afford to own it but just to drive a few laps of Spa-Francorchamps in this car would be a dream for me.
There are of course other cars that I would also consider very close to my ultimate choice but that wasn't the original question.

It is so different and out there that I'd be tempted by a Tatra T77. A Citroen DS looks normal by comparison.

A Bizzarinni 5300 because of it's sexy lines, big HP and good handling.
That being said, any car of a similar type would be a real treat as I have never driven anything of the like.
Other than my '86 Jaguar xks-c, but not enough hp in it....yet....

That would include any mid engined exotic, like a Ferrari 250 LM, or anything like it.

I have also never driven anything older than my '56 Plymouth. I'd love to drive a '30s Packard or Cadillac.

Also I think it would be fun to drive a cab-over tractor/trailer without the trailer.
Vintage, of course.
