Yikes ... that IS sad.

I've often wondered why automakers make sssooo many cars to begin with.  I mean, it isn't an unlimited amount of people that buy cars every year ... is it?

Simple: The more they make, the more money they get from selling them.
Of course there's one tiny problem, someone has to buy all those cars. But "hey, that's the salesmen's job. Why should we think about it here in the headquarters?" A way of thinking that is nowadays present not only in the automotive business...
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

i have watched over the years as the cars become more reliable.250,000 km and the pistons are still like new.
so iv often wondered  when the crunch will come when the life expectancy of a car catches up with over production
so it took a spike in  oil price to set it off.
some of the latest cars out show extreem panic in their design to attact more customers.

and some like the late ford edsel are down right ugly  with design geeks taking over from the artists 
the impossible immediately miracles a little longer
