Am I dreaming?
« on: January 29, 2010, 11:10:27 AM »
2010, Great Britain

After an hard accident while he was driving his Triumph TR7, James slip into a coma. It was 1984.
Today, 26 years later, finally he is awake again.
The doctor says that it's a good day to talk with him, today he is in a good mood and he has got plenty of questions.
"Your family is ok, after all this time they are still waiting for you, yes your cat is long dead but you'll see the pictures. Your friend George finally got married with Lucy...bla bla bla..."
finally he came to his great passion, cars:
"Your TR7...well just some rusting parts, but is still working....
"new models?...eehr I got to tell you, Triumph no longer exists...it closed in 1984, you remember the Holda-based ones? Yes, they were the last."
"You think it's sad? Do you remember the Rover? Yes, it was also involved with Honda these years, but you know what? The closed too! I know they where one of the few with 200 years of history behind, but that's it."
"No please, don't let me tell you too much, you are still recovering...OK, Ok just onother...Jaguar? Are you sure you want to know?
"Ok then...they are still alive!"
"You missed some pretty nice models but I have to tell you...Ford took it over in 1989"
"Yes that Ford. I know, but you know globalization....too complicated...nope, they didn't build the F-type but there are some real good models...."
"I'll tell you there is also a model that shares components with a Ford! Oh, and it's FWD drive too. But you know, many cars are FWD, it's not so important, and your Station Wagon is much more roomy....Yes, there is a Ford-Based FWD Jaguar Station Wagon...you can even have it Diesel powered...
" James?  JAMES?  DOCTOOOR!!"

You can find many other news that will send him back to the coma. Here are some examples:
"Porsche? alive and kicking, and they add a new line of sports cars, and they finally manage to make that 911-like 4-door car, it's called Panamera...and the Cayenne is a great success. Oh, I forgot, the Cayenne is a SUV...not a Jeep...not an MPV...a SUV. Nope, it's not a coupe it's a 4-door...and you can have it Diesel too. "
"Ferrari? They are doing great. They basically are keeping doing the same lines of sports cars, an extreme one, in limited serie, a bigger one and a 2+2. They are also developing their electric car...."
"You like this small citycar? Yes it's lovely...no it's not Japanese, but you're not that far...it's called Cygnet. Who made it? Aston martin, of course!"

:lmao:  He would be dead if the Jaguar story was continued: "Heard of Tata? Yes, they own the cat...".

He is lucky he was not there to see the rise and fall of the huge Hummer!
He wasn't there when they start to terrorize the enemy troops in the gulf, when they became """""civilized """" vehicles, bought by owners with the urge to prove their ability to park with 2 wheel on the road and the other to on a wall...and so he won't be so shocked to learn that it was later took over by ...some chinese manufacturer, who will dispose of such technology in their small factory....
And the BIG three? He will be forced to do the math again...
Probably he won't soffer for the Saab or the Oldsmobile, He won't like the new Maybach, but the list of missing ones will be terrifying, expecially for an englisman!
