Pixar Did What in their Cup?
« on: June 24, 2011, 06:18:05 AM »
The reviews are rolling in on Disney/Pixar's Cars 2, and they are lukewarm, at best. Will it be a money making machine, though not a good movie, what with the overwhelming array of licensed merchandise?

In last week's newspaper (remember those?), there were pages of ads for Cars 2 products, including clothing, camping gear, wading pools, Lego sets, etc.

The promos and trailers point to a Cars universe that looks much more artificial than the landscapes and Main Street of the original, and lots and lots of explosions. Yuck. I'm sure I'll see the film at some point. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!
