As you may have seen, I'm the chief editor of the only european microcar magazine, dealing about our strange and oh-so-frenchy "voitures sans permis" market.
We are doing quite a lot of stuff about old brands of these, like Arola, Mini Comtesse, etc...
I have quite detailed archives on many things, but I'm still looking for original pictures of the different stands at the Paris Motorshow (or for italian brands, maybe at the Milan Motorbike show). Especially for the 1979, 1981, 1983 and 1985 shows, which were dedicated for motorbikes but featured a full "voiturette" section as well. For these four exhibitions, it is awfully difficult to find that kind of stuff, because people were going to see big bikes, sadly not much for our exquisite microcar production ! ;D
Still, it's always quite interesting to see what was shown, for the colours or details of the cars, and quite often some prototypes could be seen on these stands.
So, if you had ever made some pictures on the stand of Ligier, Marden or whatever, I'll be very grateful to see it. In this case, I can give to any of you my email to send it, or even the adress of the ftp of the magazine to transfer it.
Obviously, I'll be happy to send our publication to our fellow contributors if we publishing any of your archives pictures.
Best regards,
Thierry Astier

I would like to see any and all of those pics posted here in this thread as well.
Just sayin........

Good idea !
For a start, two pictures of the Tomcar stand at their second exhibition, 1982 Paris (car) Motorshow. With just two cars : a 50cc cabrio and a 125cc saloon. This one was the newest addition to the range. I've found both on a website that had quite a lot of car pictures, but I really don't remember its name... ???

Cool little rides!
C'mon folks, lets help get Cmetisse what he seeks, besides, I like cool little rides.

In fact, I would love to be able to make articles about "the microcars at the X-Paris Motorshow".
I suppose this is the best place in the world to make that kind of silly request ! ;D
-
This is great stuff! If possible, I'd love to see the YEAR of manufacture or presentation added, since that's how all of my reference photos are labeled. If I come across something that I don't see included, I'll be sure to add it.

Not a silly request at all......
It's a much needed piece of serious research and essential while sources of information may still be available.
I also have similar ideas - but not on microcars I hasten to add!
-
In my archives, I have some articles made specially on the microcars novelty at this or that Motorshow. But usually, these are quite short, and with just a few pictures. Moreover, these photos are mostly interesting, but quite impossible to use in a magazine, even with a good scanner.
-
I'll be glad to help.
I have all the issues of Automoilia (Hors Serie) where are pictured all the cars shown at the 'Salon the Paris' from 1919 till 1983. If there's something you'd like I can send you a scan.
-
Thanks a lot, Paul, but I already have all these very interesting issues ! ;D
And even these don't always have pictures taken on motorshows.
To be more precise, I'm looking for motorshows voiturette pictures for years between 1975 and 1988 included.
At the 1990 Motorshow, there was no voiturette exhibition (producers were unhappy with the place proposed for). And, for the 1992 edition and after, I have a quite complete collection of voiturettes stands pictures.

Would be very glad to send you something, if I had anything on this subject at all :-[

No problem, Faksta !
I know it's not simple to find what I'm looking for, as most people at motorshow don't even have a look on these cars. And, moreover, petrolheads generally would rather take pictures on the Ferrari stand than having a long hard look on the last novelty from Erad !
And they're probably right to do so. ;D
