1953 Paris Auto Show Photos
« on: June 02, 2014, 11:12:34 AM »
Has anyone got an archive of photos from the 1953 Paris Auto Show? Specifically I am looking for photos of the Ghia stand and, even more specifically, for a photo of the Afla Romeo 1900 Supergioiello coupe that was on the Ghia stand.

Perhaps even more specifically, does anyone know which of the six cars built was displayed?

No to both. We're just in the initial phase of gathering some history on a car.  We are checking some books we have access to at the moment. We thought someone may have something immediately accessible. There is not much information available online on this particular car...

Hello Avalanche, I believe this is a picture from the 1953 Paris Auto Show, Ghia Stand. Just a Fiat 8V. But, behind it, before or after I don“t know, there was a Porsche Prototype by Ghia.

alfa1900 register it“s also a good source.

Regards!

Nice Paris 1953 photo !

Reasonably sure the Alfa wasn't at Paris

However there was a Ghia Alfa Romeo similar to yours on the large Ghia stand at Turin show 1953.
It appears to have a metallic shade & has whitewall tyres.
Shared the Ghia stand along with Ghia Fiat Abarth , Ghia Dodge Firearrow , Aurelia Boano Junior 2 ,etc
I think the original Supersonic ,the Alfa Conrero was supposed to be there also , but have never seen photos !

Thanks very much for the information and photo. Unless Ghia had another section, it's pretty obvious the car isn't there.

Thank you! We'll focus our search for Turin photos. We have a color photo of the Ghia Fiat Abarth which shows a metallic dark silver car with wide whitewalls but it doesn't seem to have indicator lights on the leading edge of the fenders. We suspect that may be one of Virgil Exner's Chrysler Ghia Specials; perhaps the D'elegance. Unfortunately, that's the only angle we've found to date.
