Some you win; some you lose!
« on: February 22, 2012, 04:40:33 PM »
Though 2012 is only a few weeks old, we have already lost three great motoring marques this year; Saab, Spyker and Bowler.

On the plus side though, we are now regaining two old favorites; Atalanta (due for re-launch on 5 March) and Borward!  Even old models are now being revived (step forward the new Morgan +8).

I guess it's only a matter of time before Saab, Spyker and Bowler make a comeback as well!  Would anyone like to make a bet as to which name will be the first to be relaunched?  :)
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Bowler?
I thought that's what City workers wore to work?!

Whenever a famous marque has disappeared in the past it seemed inconceivable that they would disappear forever, yet that is usually just what has happened.  The list is endless: Riley, Triumph, Standard, Rover etc etc etc.
Although I did read last week that there is talk of a new Triumph sports car from BMW (who still own the name) so maybe all is not lost!

Like the rumours of a new Austin-Healey by BMW a few years ago ...
Reviving a dead marque is hard business, ask Maybach  ;)
