In the AutoPuzzles Spotlight - knightfan26917
« on: March 15, 2009, 09:30:15 AM »
AP: Tell us about yourself and when you became interested in cars?

When I was VERY young.  When Mom and Dad bought their '76 MC in 1976, I started pointing at other MCs and saying "arlo".

AP: What was your first car?

1979 Monte Carlo Landau ... and I still have

AP: What is your daily driver?

1987 Monte Carlo LS/CL

AP: What classic or special cars do you currently have?

1972 Monte Carlo; 1976 Monte Carlo Landau; 1979 Monte Carlo Landau; 1981 Monte Carlo SC

AP: What made you choose to buy them?

my "love affair" with the Monte Carlo!

AP: Have you ever just missed buying a particular car, and lived to regret it?

Sadly, yes.  A number of different Monte Carlos and a 1978 Caprice Classic coupe

AP: What would be your dream car?

1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe ... and a 1975 Caprice Classic convertible

AP: Which car do you regret having parted company with?

My former 1988 Monte Carlo LS

AP: What is your favorite drive in your classic or special car?

Anywhere that has little traffic!  I truly just love to drive ... and go wherever the road takes me.  I think my road trips attest to that, too!

AP: How much work on your car(s) do you carry out yourself?

Cleaning (washing, waxing, etc.).  Mechanical repairs have NEVER interested me....

AP: What do you carry with you when you go out in your car(s)?

A map ... my cell phone ... and a few other things

AP: Do you get involved in the club scene, and why?

Nope.

AP: Do you take an interest in motor sport, and if so where is your favorite
venue(s)/club meeting(s)?

Not really....  I'm a member of several different Monte Carlo groups/organizations.

AP: What is your worst memory involving a car?

...Buying my 2000 Lumina LS coupe

AP: What is your funniest memory involving a car?

Heh ... not really sure.,,,,

AP: What is your most enjoyable moment involving a car?

Any moment that involves road trips

AP: Best road food?

Fast

AP: How would you define a ‘classic’?

Don't really have a set definition of "classic" ... "classic" means something different to just about everyone anyway....

AP: What in your opinion, is the worst car regarded as a ‘classic’ and why?

I don't think I think of any car as a "worst car" ... while obviously I'm a fan of the Monte Carlo, I do appreciate ALL older cars....

AP: What in your view will be a future classic?

Probably the new Challenger and the new Camaro....

AP:  What question would you like to ask, and to whom?

Oh boy ... so much, but so little time...

AP: What car publications / car websites do you regularly read / visit?

Hmmmm........way too many
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

The Lancia was a great one, though!

I met a guy once who had installed a chipped engine from a Delta Integrale in one. About 300 HP - and then he stripped the car down to a bare minimum. Sounded like something from another planet, looked menacing and probably went like stink.
