Mystery Mercedes ?
« on: June 22, 2016, 09:45:39 AM »
I came across this car, looks like a modified Mercedes but could also be a home-built that should look like a Mercedes. Caption says the photo is taken at the 1979 Oldtimer Grandprix at the Nürburgring. Any ideas ?

I don't know what it is, although I'm convinced it never saw the interior of the Mercedes-Benz Competitions Department.

I thought it was the worst replica I'd seen, but then I found this. It's powered by a Chevy 350ci motor, and the vendor makes a big deal about the fact that this "replica" has a windscreen, opening side windows, a convertible top, aircon etc.. Just like the original  ;D.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia
