The 8-cylinders Maserati series started with the Tipo 26 and went on with the 26M and the 8CM... they were cars built to race... but there were a few exceptions...

In 1947 it was the time for a new 6-cylinder model... which began the first official Maserati road car and the main opponent to Ferrari cars on the race tracks...

But the A6GCS was not enough for the challenge with Ferrari... and in 1955 borned a full range of sport cars, from 1500 to 4500cc...

While the 200S was the successor of the A6GCS, the 3500 GT was the worthy heir of its road version... with a lot of unknown coachbuilt versions...
