Dear AutoPuzzlers,
An old classmate of mine - he is meanwhile Professor for Japanese Studies - has asked me for help for a current research project.
He has read, that the whole decoration at the 1916 Chicago Auto Show (and maybe also of the 1915 fair) has been executed in Japanese style.
The rather bad photo I posted here can easily be found in the internet - but thatīs it.
You can clearly see Shōji-style room-dividers and pagoda-style little pillars.
So I would be extremely thankful for any contributions of photos of the inside of the fairground as well as of the surroundings that may have been decorated like a classical Japanese garden.
Or does anybody have contacts in Chicago that might be able to help or to provide more information and even some more photos?
After 100 years this will be not an easy task, but where if not here I should be successful..
Thank you all!
