Title: Goodwood Revival Oddballs
Post by: Quiller on September 22, 2009, 06:10:55 AM
Here are some unusual cars from last weekend's Goodwood Revival - a superb event that saw Stirling Moss (80th birthday) share a platform with Buzz Aldrin!

The Nimbus Special is by Donald Parker?

That's right. As it's Mini Cooper-engined, it formed part of the Mini 50th Birthday celebrations at Goodwood.

Originally Nimbus Special was powered by 1172cc Ford sidevalve four... but later 1275cc Mini Cooper A-series was mounted giving the car amazing 375bhp per tone power-to-weight ratio :) Probably Mike Hentall (Parker's brother in law) is its current owner...

Curses Quiller, I was going to post the Bristol Teardrop Special as a puzzle!  Anyway, thanks for the good Revival publicity, and I will try and get some photos added too once I have fully recovered from this great event.  :)
