A couple of months ago, AutoPuzzler Emeritus Paul Jaray posted a puzzle of a wild custom car of questionable heritage and possessed of a muddled overall look. I'm sure it looked great to the builder, but to others...?

At least one other Auto Puzzles member besides me spent considerable time looking at picture after picture of some wild and woolly custom cars which, like PJ's puzzle, probably looked great to the builder. I've started a thread here to share them all with you. At least one of them was once a puzzle, but has been repainted since. Can you spot it?

Please feel free to add some of your own.

Enjoy!  :o

A very well executed custom car, that failed was the brazilian "Cisne Pratedo" we had here as a puzzle long time ago:

Another nice, but quite ill-conceived custom car.

I found it at a friend´s home while searching through his very cool vinyl collection.
It´s shown inside of Steppenwolf´s vinyl album "For ladies only" and I´d really like to know more about it... :)

There were also some very ill-conceived custom cars in the 1980´and 1990s in Russia, the GDR and in Germany...

Okay, let me nominate this car here. The guy who built it was very enthusiastic about the project and wanted to trademark it. I don't think he succeeded. It's powered by a Volvo 440 engine

Wow, some of these really make my eyes hurt.

I kind of like the 3rd car in the 1st post, though... a Marlin with fins!

Have to agree with ftg3plus4. The idea of a Marlin with fins actually doesn't look half bad.

Actually, I think it's a '58 Plymouth with a Marlin roof grafted on
