I think it once was part of a group puzzle, but can't find it in a search. So maybe it is time to have it as a puzzle of its own.

VW-based, but neither the Sagitta nor by Wendler
(I know where you got that idea from, but that is only one of the innumerable errors in that book.  :()

Thanks for puzzle and point. I saw a certain resemblance to the Champion and then just browsed through the Chamion coachbuilders.
