In the slipstream.

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

I think, the correct name should be Reinsberger Fahrzeug 1 Phänomen VW. Built by Klaus Reinsberger in 1950. But the point should go to 'knewit', as he did most of the work to identify this car...

Correct, one point for you.

Melenk mentions two cars built by Klaus Reinsberger:
- Fahrzeug 1 Phänomen-VW
- Fahrzeug 2 Steyr-VW
I don't know which one this is. Do you have a proof for your assumption?

I think it is the first one. He used this Volkswagen based car at the Schauinsland hillclimb in 1951. In the progtramm it is named only "Volkswagen".

Ah, I had just seen the mention on page 69.

I wonder what might have been the Phänomen part of the car. The truck chassis and the engine would have been too heavy for a sports car I guess.

I think it's a fantasy-name given by the driver, as often in thoose days.
In the race programm from Sternberg/Zella-Mehlis 1950 - Sachsenring 1950 - Halle Saale Schleife 09-51 and Sachsenring the car was always name VW-Eigenbau.
