We've established that the car was built in the USA.  I then asked whether its mechanical elements (engine, gearbox, transmission etc), as opposed to body and chassis, colloquially referred to as "oily bits" are also from the USA.

Clark Adams was the engineer at PBS, who designed all the cars, engines, transmissions, etc., including the famous SOHC- and DOHC-cylinder heads for Fiat 850 engines and conversion kits to permit installation of a Fiat 124 engine in a Fiat 850 chassis.
Correct company's owner spelling should be "Paul and Bob Swenson" not "Swensen", whenever although this is often found in the literature
