This car has never been a previous puzzle in its own right - I'm very surprised. It's so easy for the Rookies - what is it?

Judging by the tyre size, is it a modern "evocation"?

It probably uses larger wheels than originally fitted, but it's not modern.

I cannot work this one out - its not an ERA and it's not Jack Turners MG so I need to go for the engine - is it 6cylinder?

That's an interesting question. The base car is pre-war, but some more research tells me it was converted to a single-seater after 1997.

It's a Lagonda Rapier which started life as a 1934 coupe bodied by Abbott of Farnham. In 1997 and it was bought by a Mr. Reinhard List of Edlitz, Austria. He converted it to supercharged single-seater.

That's the car! Nothing more to add, really. I thought it might have been built pre-war like the Eccles car, but it's just another example of a modern "enthusiast" wrecking a car's provenance. Looks nice though.

But essentially  a "special" in the VSCC tradition though.

Fair comment. It could just as easily have been done in period.
