Is it Pete Macrow's Argo- Chevrolet from about 1968?
Yes it is, and very well solved.
It was built from 1964-1967 (slow build!) by Ray Gibbs to the order of the then-owner Tony Osborne of Melbourne, based on a Cooper single-seater F2-5-60. It was not successful as by then sports car design had moved on. I suppose it was the Antipodean equivalent of the Zerex Special.
Peter Macrow raced the car in 1968 as you state.
