I suppose most Mallocks (you're right - it is) could take part in several different formulae. It's not a 20/20B because it's a bit earlier.

LOCKED for D-type. What model Mallock is this?

According to David Hodges' book there weren't that many single seater U2s.  Could this be the Mk 12 Formula 3 car?

Not that. Much closer to "20" and for a formula associated with a famous marque. Still locked.

(PS I know the book of which you write - I think it restricts the content to F1/F2/F3 and possibly FAtlantic/B or else it would have to be a lot larger. This is none of those formulae. Much more like a national formula.)

An open wheeler with wings.  Could ut be Formula Ford 2000?  A Mk17?

This could go on far beyond reasoning, so I'll give you the point now  ;D.

It's apparently a Mk18 from 1977 built for FF2000. Well done.

Thanks.  I think Mk 18 would probably have been my next guess.
