Possibly based on the Hudson Terraplane and even more of a guess is that the Spikins Hudson in its earliest form?

Not the Spikins car. but it is indeed based on a Hudson Terraplane! LOCKED for Allan L for 24 hours.

The car was driven by some Bruce at the Lord Howe Race Track in Kelvin near Johannesburg, South Africa. Still looking for his family name.

I don't know his full name either! It was H W Bruce, and he won the 1937 Silver Springbok Trophy at Johannesburg.

You have clearly identified the car, and that's good enough for me. One point to you.
