I have checked the search facility using hypens and apostrophes but it seems this has never been a puzzle. What is it?

Somehow the name Oscar Moore comers to mind.  It's BMW based unless I'm mistaken.  An Oscar Moore creation ?

Hello Willie. Where've you been? Not Kirkistown that's for sure.

You get the point.  It is Oscar Moore's OBM built from a BMW 328. Very well used in British national racing in the late40s/early 50s. Here it's winning the 1950 Manx Cop.
