Probably too small to be Jaguar-based, but I'll ask if it is anyway.

Going through the usual suspects, is it Triumph based?

To me it has a 1950s/60s look - but the steering wheel looks smaller than the usual aftermarket job of that time, or perhaps my sense of perspective is wrong.

It is not 1950's or 1960's..... so your sense of perspective is indeed wrong.  ;)  :hah:
To be fair, the steering is not representative for the age of the car, well spotted!

Ignoring the body, as I can't get any clue from what we can see, the tyres are the width and tread I associate with 1940s Dunlop Fort. The detail of the gear lever is poor but I think that would be a clue if one could see it.

Based on a 1930s Riley, built in the 1940s?

Well the base car was usually a 1930s Austin 7, and Hamblin introduced the Mk1 Cadet bodyshell in 1958 followed by a Mk2 in 1960 that had integral rear wings. As the puzzle car does not have this feature it is a Mk1 so it is a 58 or 59 shell and could have been built at anytime thereafter. I used to have a neighbour with one and I was forever cadging a ride in a vehicle that seemed very exciting to an adolescent at the time - particularly when he sawed the nose off obliquely so that it resembled a Cooper-Bristol.

Have now found the photo of the puzzle car which is based on a 1937 A7 and is for sale in Italy for 8000 Euros - and has also had its nose sawn off!

Hamblin Cadets keep popping up but as they are all slightly different maybe they should be left as separate puzzles?
On the other hand, they are one story so maybe should all be kept together?

I know there were already some similar Hamblins that past the review, but as this was totally different I posted this one. Feel free to add this one together with the previous ones.
