Not British
The ASP 1300 was also one of my first guesses (10" wheels), but the puzzle-setter meant, the car isn't British

Still think, the car raced in the US H-Mod class too. But I am not sure about

What do I do?
The car is certainly the ASP 1300S, with a rear-mounted BMC 'A-Series' engine.
My original source, which I can't find,  said it was built in Australia, but it appears it was built in Britain in 1965 derived from the Terrapin and the Cox GTM.  It was later raced in the USA (Although the "Racing Sports Cars" database doesn't mention it)
(The Australian ASP is apparently a front-engined Ford-powered 'Clubman' style car.)

Under the circumstances, I feel all I can do is award you both a point.

Here are a couple of links to articles about it (both from the same person unfortunately)
https://maximummini.blogspot.com/2022/10/asp-1300-s-advanced-cox-gtm-and-terrapin.html
https://maximummini.blogspot.com/2019/04/asp-1300-survives-in-kansas-usa.html

I also attach a picture of the badge and a couple of photos of the car

I thought links were allowed after a puzzle is solved.

I'm afraid that is not the case. Sites which provde puzzles are jealously guarded by other members.
