I think it's one of about four Crayford convertible Sunbeam Imps. Made about 1969.

Is the soft top the non-British part?

A one off fastback conversion of a Hillman Imp or Commer Imp van?

Not a one off fastback conversion. You were much closer the solution before

Is it the Hillman Stiletto?  Built for Chrysler Australia by Eiffel Tower Motors

Yes, Rusty Chrome is right!
Unassembled Imps were exported for assembly in Australia, partly built up at Rootes Australia in Port Melbourne, then delivered to Eiffel Motor Works of Dandenong, Victoria. There, they manufactured the Stiletto Sports convertible with re-inforced subframe. For additional $ 200 a removable vinyl-hardtop (see puzzle car) was available.

Can you please explain what is the difference between a soft top and a convertible?

The puzzle car shows a hard-top. Please be so kind and read my answers carefully.
You asked if the soft-top is the non-British parts, but, sadly, there is no soft-top on the puzzle car, but a removable vinyl-hard-top

Make up your mind.  Your title says the car is a CONVERTIBLE.  If it has a hard top , it is not a convertible.
