- who made the bodywork...
- who designed it...
Are both of these elements Italian?

I suppose the design could be referred to Mario Riva and Guido Cattaneo. It's quite lookalike to Fiat 1100E/1400 Coupé and 6c2500 Lurani Coupé, both from 1950...so I guess this Veritas is from 1950 too.

not quite.. one more try!

I need the base: both companies were already mentioned, but I need the engine it had
Coachbuilder is Riva. The design goes back to somebody already mentioned as well..
The year is still wrong.

Maybe it wasn't plain to see, but it still was locked for targhediferro.  ;)

Almost correct. It's based on a Veritas BMW 328 according to my source and the year is 1949, but the nickpicky days are over.. Point for targhediferro!
Quote: "BMW-Veritas 328 di Giovanni Lurani, carrozzeria Riva, 1949"

Thanks to our great Paul Jaray I found this car which is not featured in Alessandro Sannia's Riva book. Paul told him about the car, but obviousely it was too late. The chapter was closed.

According to Rosellen's Veritas book Lurani's car is a BMW 328 rebodied by a Turinese coachbuilder named Caracciolo and was brought to Veritas because of engine problems. But Rosellen (aka Thyssen-Bornemisza) may be wrong(again).

The car has a Como number plate. Merate is not too far away (~ 35 km). Were Merate cars equipped with Como plates back then? Maybe the Italian members know.

Thank you for the point....Merate had Como plates, and the front of this Veritas is so similar to Fiat 1400 Coupé Riva that I dare to say that it very hard to think that a "never heard by anybody" Mr. Caracciolo could have coachbuilt it.
