Early Country Motoring - John F. Bridges
« on: August 06, 2009, 05:20:25 AM »
Early Country Motoring. Cars and Motorcycles in Suffolk 1896-1940. By John F. Bridges.

As a local history enthusiast I really like this book as it gives a insight to the early days of motoring in the county of Suffolk, from the early days where the 'Horseless Carriage' was the latest and greatest plaything for the wealthy to the social implications of the new found freedom of motoring when motor vehicles became accessible to the masses. It also features the histories of car manufacturers in Suffolk, the most well known one being Brooke who made the famous Swan Car.
