This is the most expensive book I have ever bought. Although it is old (First published in 1961) a lot of the information within is still valid today as it explains what makes a car handle well with in-depth sections on suspension and chassis design and the principles and theory of caster, camber, roll centres, anti roll bars, weight transfer, etc, it covers it all. It also features case studies on various racing and sports cars (Lotus' MkVIII, 19, 25, Mercedes 300SL, C and D Type Jaguars, Maserati Birdcage, and more.).

it contains all the basic 'rules' and from these you can modify to suit your project

i still treat it like a cache of gold
the impossible immediately miracles a little longer
