Post War Baby Austins - Barney Sharratt
« on: November 01, 2009, 09:25:05 AM »
The full story of the Austin A30, A35, and A40 Farina, lots of information about these cars, the experimental designs, prototypes, and testing behind the 'New Austin Seven' and the the company politics at the time.

Includes: the story of how the A series engine came about, motorsport (John Sprinzel always took the inside line on corners in case there was need to 'lean' on the opposition!), prototypes (including information about a gas turbine powered A35), how the cars were built, commercial versions, a small piece on the Innocenti A40 and CKD Austins, a very detailed section on technical and production data, everything you could ever want to know about these cars is in this book.

There is a foreword by James Hunt who tells of his A35 Countryman and admits that 'sliding about on crossplies is rather fun'.
